💡 NFL expert picks for Week 6

🆚 Expert NFL game picks

SBR staff record (10-6)

Dustin Saracini: Jaguars -1.5

It looks like I’m the Lone Ranger on this one. Did anyone see what the Jags did to the Kansas City Chiefs last week? You can call me a believer. Jacksonville is coming into this game against the Seattle Seahawks riding a two-game win streak against the San Francisco 49ers and Andy Reid’s boys, and I like them to cover here once more. The Jags are slowly becoming ATS darlings this season, riding a 4-1 ATS record heading into Week 6.

Gary Pearson: Broncos -7

The New York Jets scored 16 garbage-time points against the Dallas Cowboys and only covered in Tampa thanks to a blocked field goal that was returned for a major. Otherwise, they have been dominated since Week 1.

They face a Denver Broncos team that is rolling, high on confidence and momentum. Justin Fields was sacked five times against a subpar Dallas Cowboys defense, and now he’s up against a Broncos’ defense with the most sacks (21) in the NFL. File them under our favorite NFL expert picks.

Sean Tomlinson: Bengals-Packers Under 44.5

Yes, the Packers will throttle a hapless Bengals operation, no doubt piling on plenty of points against a woeful defense ranked 30th in points allowed per game. But it’s easy to envision a game script in which the Packers race out to a mammoth early lead, then coast during the second half while leaning on their imposing defense and solid run game.

We saw that in two recent Bengals losses, when Cincinnati didn’t do much lifting while scoring 13 combined points against the also defensively strong Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos. And while 40-year-old Joe Flacco is sadly an upgrade at quarterback, starting shortly after joining a new team at Lambeau Field is a disastrous setup.

LJ Blut: Broncos -7

I am all over the Broncos in the international game of the week against the New York Jets. The Jets are a bottom-five team in football this season, and their offense has seemingly only gotten worse as the season has gone on. The Justin Fields plan has been a failure in his early tenure with the team, and he should struggle mightily against a very talented Broncos defense. The Jets' offense has allowed 27 points or more in every single game this season, and I see that continuing here.

🏈 Best NFL player prop bets

SBR staff record (6-10)

Dustin Saracini: Baker Mayfield Over 240.5 passing yards

Mayfield - currently sitting atop our clutch factor power rankings - has eclipsed this yardage total in back-to-back games (379 and 289 yards) against two respectable pass defenses. While the 49ers have limited opponents to just 207 passing yards per game, and Tampa Bay will be missing both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Mayfield has proven he can still get the job done. This line feels too low given his recent form, making it a number worth jumping on.

Gary Pearson: Emeka Egbuka Over 72.5 receiving yards

The Bucs’ rookie sensation, Emeka Egbuka, has hit the Over on this total in three straight, and he’s up against a San Francisco 49ers defense ravaged by injuries. They made it through last Thursday’s game with an improbable win against the Los Angeles Rams, but were torn apart by Matthew Stafford’s aerial bombardment, to the tune of 389 passing yards.

I expect Egbuka to find holes and exploit the aforementioned injuries in the secondary. BetMGM’s -140 odds offer the best value, where a winning $10 bet will yield a $7.14 profit.

Sean Tomlinson: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 75.5 receiving yards

The Jaguars have been impressive, but their one glaring weakness lies in the secondary, with the team allowing 250.4 passing yards per game (27th). That includes 793 yards to wide receivers so far (11th-worst) and four touchdowns.

The path to beating their defense is clear, and the Seahawks will happily go down that road while boasting one of the league’s most efficient passing attacks. Their top receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the way for them, and he’s already produced three 100-plus yard outings, including a season high 132 yards on eight receptions last week.

LJ Blut: Joe Flacco to throw an interception

Now, this play seems pretty self-explanatory. Flacco is being put behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. His team should also be playing from behind in this game. That will lead to a ton of Flacco dropbacks, and that is not a successful recipe for Flacco at this point in his career.

The Packers do an excellent job at creating turnovers, and I expect more of the same. They will be sending the blitz all game long, and Joe is in line to throw multiple interceptions if this plays out how I expect.
