Our NFL picks are piling up as the season presses on.
- An AFC East showdown featured in the Thursday Night Football odds saw the Buffalo Bills pick up a win, 31-21, over the visiting Miami Dolphins
- The Sunday Night Football odds aren't promising a close game, either, with the Chiefs a 6-point road betting favorite over the Giants at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC)
- The Monday Night Football odds aren't any closer (Ravens -5 vs. Lions) but that could change after Detroit put up 50 points in Week 2; kickoff in Baltimore is at 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN) on Sept. 22
We're already looking ahead to the NFL odds for Week 4 with eyes on some early value picks before the lines move.

Week 3 line movement and impact injuries
There are always major moves following injuries and outcomes in the early weeks of the season as our perceptions of teams change. Here is a look at some of the biggest movers for the season's third week.
- The Bills were -9.5 last week before dismantling the Jets 30-10 and have now been bet up to -11.5; the Dolphins allowing 33 points to the Patriots probably didn't instill much confidence, either
- The Vikings moved from a 1.5-point betting favorite to -3 against the Bengals, while the total dropped from 46.5 to 42 - both moves a direct reflection of the injuries to Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy; Minnesota running back Aaron Jones
- After watching both defenses stop exactly no one, the Cowboys vs. Bears total jumped from 46 to 50, the highest total of the week
- The Commanders have dropped from the 6-point favorite to 3.5-point favorite with QB Jayden Daniels rumored to miss the game as he nurses a sprained knee
- Despite Jets QB Justin Fields going through concussion protocol, the Bucs have moved off the key number of 7-points to be lined as the 6.5-point favorite in midweek betting
- 49ers QB Brock Purdy looks like he'll miss at least another week, with Mac Jones getting another start

🔢 NFL Week 3 odds and lines
There's an advantage to betting early NFL odds when attempting to beat the closing line. The closer you wait until kickoff to make your NFL picks, the harder it becomes to identify edges and secure the best price on most sides or totals.

❓NFL odds FAQs
Who's playing on prime time in Week 3?
The Miami Dolphins visit the Buffalo Bills for Thursday Night Football, the New York Giants host the Kansas City Chiefs for Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football features the Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens.
How do NFL spread odds work?
When betting on the NFL, the favorite needs to win by a certain number of points to cover the "point spread" - also known as the betting line. Conversely, the underdog needs to lose by fewer than the points displayed in the spread or win outright to cash. For example, a 3-point favorite would need to win by more than a field goal to reward bettors.
How do NFL moneyline odds work?
When betting on the NFL, the underdog will have the "longer" odds and is typically priced at "plus-money" odds that indicate the profit on a $100 bet. For example, a team with +150 odds would turn a $100 bet into a $150 profit - or a $10 bet into a $15 profit - according to our odds converter.
